ZPHS (Boys) Bibipet was established in 1929. The school runs with both Telugu and English medium curriculums. The school is being administered by Mrs K.Y. Padmini since 1993. Over the last few years, the school has been accommodating more than 550 students every year. In the current year (2018-19), the school has reached its all-time high strength of 620 students.
The students of ZPHS Bibipet have not only been performing very well academically but also in extra curricular activities. Various cultural programs including essay writing and elocution competitions are also held at the premises.PFI has introduced the book ‘Lead with Values’ to the school which they have been following throughout the academic year.
Few of the activities undertaken are:
Story of Robotics – A practice introduced by PFI
Children studying in remote areas rarely get exposed to concepts like robotics or rockets. While the rest of the world lives on internet, these students have little or no access to even computers.
Suraj Pabbathi (Founder and President of PFI) picked up this new technology from KHEL creativity club in USA. Suraj has found the potential of introducing this to students of India. He trained Aravind Garrepally, who took further interest in learning EV3 Mindstorm Robotic set and showed enthusiasm in training students in remote schools of Telangana.
Ms Arundhati, a teacher from ZPHS (Boys) Bibipet selected a few students who have not only learnt but could also successfully impart knowledge to fellow students of not only that school but also to the students of neighborhood schools. The Telugu medium students gave their first performance at ZPHS (Girls) Bibipet and the English medium students at KGBV-Malkapur.
ZPHS (Boys) Bibipet is one of the few schools to grab this opportunity through PFI. The students are overwhelmed to be trained in this field as this is a dream come true to them. Mr Suraj has this vision at the inception of this organization in the year 2010 and his dream came true after 8 years.
Need of support
Though the school is being supported by the Government, only basic necessities are being looked after. The students can avail better opportunities to showcase their talent provided they have access to advanced technology. Another major problem that they are encountering is availability of water resources to meet the growing school capacity. The school also is in need of a sound system to be used during school assemblies, elocution competitions and celebration of special events.
