PFIs Vayuputra Project – Empowering Farmers with Drone Technology
A Vision by Suraj Pabbathi – Founder & President of PFI
Agriculture is the backbone of our nation, yet many farmers still struggle with outdated methods that limit productivity. Recognizing this challenge, Suraj Pabbathi initiated the PFI AgriTech Series, a groundbreaking effort to introduce modern technology to farmers. This series aims to enhance agricultural efficiency and provide better livelihood opportunities.
Introducing Agri Drones – A Game Changer
To revolutionize farming practices, PFI collaborated with Marut Drones, a leading company specializing in commercial drones for pesticide and fertilizer spraying. The Vayuputra Project was born with a clear mission:
Purchase a drone for agricultural applications.
Demonstrate its benefits to farmers and encourage technology adoption.
Create job opportunities for youth at a minimal cost.
Promote self-employment by training young individuals in drone operations.
Awareness Camp – Reaching Farmers Directly
To spread awareness, PFI arranged a Mega Awareness Camp in coordination with MLA Sri Katipalli Venkata Ramana Reddy garu. The event attracted 200 farmers, who witnessed a live demonstration by Marut Drones. This session helped farmers understand the immense potential of drone technology in reducing labor costs and increasing productivity.
A Special Thanks to Our Sponsor – Kalaimangai Anbalagan
PFI extends heartfelt gratitude to Kalaimangai Anbalagan, whose unwavering support brought this project to life. She organized a spectacular fundraiser show, featuring 150+ dancers, inspired by Vayuputra – The Son of the Wind. This mega production raised an incredible $8,000, ensuring the successful execution of the project. In honor of this contribution, PFI named its initiative Vayuputra – The Drone for Farmers.
Training the Future – Selection of Young Farmer Shanigarapu Ramesh
To ensure smooth implementation, PFI selected Shanigarapu Ramesh, a promising young farmer. He underwent rigorous five-day training at the Marut Drones facility in Hyderabad, mastering the operation and maintenance of agricultural drones. This knowledge will now be shared with other farmers, empowering them to embrace new-age farming techniques.
Efficient Transportation – Auto-Rickshaw for Drone Mobility
?To facilitate easy drone transport, PFI has acquired an auto-rickshaw, generously sponsored by Manish Karani, ensuring that the drone reaches farmers seamlessly. This practical step eliminates logistical challenges and maximizes the impact of the Vayuputra initiative. PFI extends heartfelt gratitude to Manish Karani for his generous contribution, which has been instrumental in advancing the Vayuputra Projects mission.
